Travel

For the prices quoted here, it is assumed that you travel from London on the Caledonian Sleeper which takes you straight to the heart of the region to be explored. You may prefer an alternative form of travel, or to be picked up at an alternative location in Scotland. All these arrangements are possible. However, if you opt for the sleeper you need to know that Standard Class berths are in cabins for two people, if you are booking on to one of these tours as a single person the Rail Company will allocate you a berth with someone of the same sex. Couples/friends/etc will share a cabin.
First class berths are in private single cabins.

For more information about onboard facilities on the Caledonian Sleeper please visit www.sleeper.scot

If you hold a National Railcard then the quoted price of the holiday would be reduced provided you give details of the Railcard at the time of booking.

The vehicle used on the trip will be a hire car large enough to give ample room to the people in the group, for example a 6 person tour would be in a 9 seater car, or 2 people in a 5 seater.

Accommodation

The prices quoted make use of comfortable hotels with bed & breakfast for around £70-£95 per person per night. The actual hotels to be used will depend on availability on the dates you wish to travel and will be suggested for your approval before booking.
All prices quoted include Breakfast but no other meals (except where mentioned).

If you would prefer to use private B&B accommodation this can be arranged (though note you can pay over £50 for a non-ensuite B&B in many areas of Scotland).

Of course, you could also bring your own tent to make the price a lot cheaper! The holiday will be built around your wishes, requirements and budget.

Payment

When you are happy with the arrangements suggested, a deposit of £250 per person will be required, with the balance due one week before departure. You are advised to take out travel insurance to cover cancellation as refunds are not possible after the full amount has been paid.

Members of the National Trust, Historic Scotland or English Heritage may be able to make slight reductions in the overall costs quoted for the trips, but only if such membership is declared at the time of booking.

If you wish to add extra people to the booking after the initial deposit has been paid there will probably be a surcharge depending on charges made by third party providers (eg hotels, rail company, etc).
